We got back from Italy recently and had the pleasure to stay in a little town called Riva Del Garda, which is right on the northern side of the Lake Garda. One of our favorite things there was trying the delicious Limoncello in the city called Limone Del Garda. Limoncello is a classic Italian lemon liqueur mainly produced in Southern Italy, especially in the region around the Gulf of Naples, the Sorrentine Peninsula and the coast of Amalfi, and islands of Procida, Ischia, and Capri. But you can find it everywhere in Italy. It’s absolutely amazing!! Since I am so passionate about this liqueur, and not everyone can just run to Italy and purchase a bottle from Limone, I decided to share a recipe I found. So now you can make Limoncello at home and with easy ingredients, and enjoy it with your girlfriends on a hot summer day!!
Pare the zest from all the lemons, taking care not to include any white pith. Put the zest in a large clean jar and pour over the vodka. Cover with a tightly fitting lid and leave for a week, shaking the jar each day.Put the sugar in a heatproof bowl and pour over the boiling water, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Add the vodka and peels and leave for a further week, shaking the jar regularly.
Strain into decorative bottles, adding a few strips of lemon zest to each bottle. Cheers!
So while in Italy I decided to go shopping and get a nice, and comfortable, summer dress. But a dress that would easily transition to Fall. And I found this one at H&M!! They were having great sale and I got to score those beautiful blue tasseled earrings as well. I am so in love with this look, and the hat just brings that lovely island vibe. You can dress up the look wearing some high heels and go for a fun night out.
